The Standard

We hold high the standard of the cross,
And with Words of God on our heart emboss.
This standard old and true,
Christ through sacrifice sought to save me and you.

His standard is our anchor in the world's raging flood,
And He our Savior has covered us with His blood.
We sin and did not care,
But He with patience is waiting there.

Remember this standard well,
For without it, your end is Hell.
The reality of this is sure,
And Christ's blood sacrifice is the cure.

The standard strong and true,
Will in the hard times deliver you.
Praise to God, Who in Eternity sits,
And He for us never quits.

Real Hell

You say that you have been through Hell today,
But if you think about it, there is no way.
There is nothing close to being there,
And you say that in life you are being treated unfair.

Hell is reserved for the lost,
So we must save as many at any cost.
Be a light within the dark,
Take them into the Savior's ark.

Remember the next time you use that phrase,
That this truth is not just a passing phase.
For God does not want to turn anyone away,
But when dealing with a life God does not play.

Consumed

I stand in the fire waiting for You,
Thy Spirit consume me in everything I do.
By faith I stood in the fire and was not consumed,
You stood by me, when in the fire I was entombed.

The flames of Hell sought to claim my life,
But You pulled me away from the strife.
My life would be overtaken; if not covered by the blood,
You have kept me stable in the overwhelming flood.

A life consumed by You will know Your fulfilling joy,
And this I can proclaim to You without alloy.
From sinner to God's redeeming grace,
I know that my soul has an eternal dwelling place.

Lord, Consume me like the fire of Daniel's day,
Please lead me, so I do not go astray.
So when I join You on bright heaven's shore,
My praise will be forever more.
